Bachelor of Fine Arts – Interior Design

Thank you for visiting our site! In 2009 we received our program accreditation from the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) www.accredit-id.org. We are very proud of our students and all the work they created that made this possible. We hope you will browse through the student work page to see what they have accomplished. If you are seeking information about our program, please peruse our faculty profiles, curriculum (includes sequence matrix, course descriptions, syllabii, prerequisites, required textbooks, and future course scheduling), or portfolio review requirements (includes mid-review, 9th quarter review, and senior review). Students in our program participate in a variety of cultural and professional experiences such as field trips to museums, design firms, and local installations. There are also a variety of opportunities for students to network at local professional events sponsored by ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and IIDA (International Interior Design Association) and to visit the Washington Design Center. Opportunities exist for students to participate in a variety of community service projects and student activities. Thank you for taking the time to browse our site. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to contact me.

Mission Statement

The mission of the interior design department is to prepare students to function as trained professionals who can conceive and develop viable, creative design solutions within the realities of a global market. The development of realistic expectations for individual achievement within the field enables students to contribute successfully at many diverse levels. By meeting the education goals, students should develop an attitude of flexibility and a desire for life-long learning that will enable them to become contributing members of the design profession. They should recognize their responsibility to meet the evolving needs of individuals, to the global community, and to the principles of sustainable design.
